Preset FAQ

Read Before Purchase

What is a preset?

Presets are incredible & they are one of the most valuable & time saving miracles of my life! Basically, they are a ‘filter’ applied to your image via a program called Adobe Lightroom (either via the FREE Lightroom app or the paid Desktop version). With just a click of a button you can transform your raw images into works of art - see, told you, miracle!

In an effort to support you at whatever stage you are in on your creative journey, I am going to highlight all the things I wish I had known when I was starting out regarding post processing aka editing. You might already know some things, or perhaps you are new to this whole editing thing, either way, I hope the below is helpful.

What is Lightroom:

Lightroom is an Adobe colouring program & is what all the pros use to edit their images, everything from social media to their websites & beyond. You do not have to be a pro to use it though & with the help of our presets, you will only need to make minor adjustments to your images to get your desired look & feel.

Lightroom requires a monthly subscription of $15. You can however trial the program for 7 days for free (which I did & I encourage you to do before making your purchase, simply to ensure you are happy with the program). I want you to be happy with your purchase so I would rather be completely upfront with you & hopefully assist you in transitioning into Lightroom (should you not already have it).

Overall, Lightroom in my opinion is the best & only way to edit high quality & incredible imagery - this is the only program we use to edit.

You can watch an abundance of how to guides on youtube too, but I watched this one:

Is Lightroom hard to use:

Not with presets & an abundance of youtube tutorials!

You only have to make minor tweaks to exposure, temperature &/ or contrast with our presets to create beautiful images of your own. We designed our presets this way, so that most of the hard work is done for you & you can focus on taking amazing photos! It might look a little scary, but trust me, once you have a play, you’ll get the hang of it!

You can always email or DM me too if you are having any trouble.

Will my photos look exactly like yours & making the most of the presets?

The base colours, tone curve (highlights, shadows etc) will be replicated. However & this is VERY important - every photo situation is unique (different locations, different times of day etc) so you will need to adjust things like exposure, contrast & temperate to achieve your desired look. This is the beauty of it, you can put your own special twist on our presets, or enjoy them like we do.

I also highly encourage you to shoot your images in RAW format, not JPEG, as RAW is the best way to capture as much data in an image & essentially allow you to more deeply manipulate a photo. These presets were made to support RAW images, though will still work on JPEG.

Can I use jpeg images, or is RAW better?

RAW is definitely better & I highly encourage you to shoot in this way, if you don’t already. It’s a simple change to your camera settings, which make a huge difference in post processing. You can still shoot & use my presets in JPEG but I do highly encourage RAW.

Why should I purchase these presets?

If you want to up your Instagram game, save yourself loads of time & get the SALTY LUXE look, these presets are for you.

Are these presets compatible with Photoshop?

No they are not, they were made for Lightroom.

Can I use these presets on my mobile?

These presets were made & work better when used via the desktop version of Lightroom, but you can follow these steps to use them on your mobile:

I will however be brining out mobile presets in the coming months to support those who would prefer a quick edit &/or only use their mobiles to edit! These presets will be made for mobile, where these presets are not designed for mobile.

What if I don’t love my presets:

Sales are final, but please do email me if you are having trouble, I would love to support you.

Can I re-sell your presets?

No, please don’t. I have worked really hard on these & have made them available to help you reach your creative goals. Please respect us & do not re-sell.
